The $1.1 million John Mactivation Project was a revitalisation of the precinct along Sussex St, outside the Town library, with an aim to meet community needs and provide a safer and more inviting space. The concept design was informed by a community engagement process, with the project completed in August 2019.
Breathing new life into John Macmillan Park, the project resulted in five areas of upgrades:
- Amphitheatre and toilet
- Reading nook
- Nature play zone
- Basketball zone
- Carpark
