The Macmillan Precinct is the heart of East Victoria Park and the home of many popular Council services, community clubs and events. As the Town’s population continues to grow and change, we’re committed to ensuring the precinct continues to meet the evolving needs of our community.
To ensure the Town has a plan for all the assets, facilities and services within the Macmillan Precinct, we are developing a masterplan to guide the future land uses of the site. The masterplan will be shaped collaboratively with the local community and explore solutions to these challenges as well as exciting opportunities to create a more inclusive, enjoyable and valuable place for the local area and all of Victoria Park. In 2019, RobertsDay were appointed to develop and undertake the consultation for the masterplan.
Through community and stakeholder engagement, the masterplan will consider appropriate long term uses for the precinct with a significant focus on the future recreational, community, commercial, residential and civic needs of our Town.
Following close collaboration with our working group, the Town released three design scenarios for public feedback in 2020. Following the community feedback on the three scenarios, the Town developed a draft Macmillan Precinct Concept Plan, which is to be endorsed by Council in 2021.
The project is due for completion by 30 June 2021.
