SwanCare is Western Australia’s largest retirement and aged care campus, home to over 1,000 retirement village residents, four aged care facilities and an onsite home care service. Just 15 minutes from Perth City, SwanCare’s retirement village in Bentley Park is a 15-hectare site offering a community with continuum of care.
SwanCare has a comprehensive masterplan for the site and has recently finished multiple major projects such as SwanCare Ningana and the Leisure Precinct.
SwanCare Ningana is a new 124 room residential aged care facility open for all in need of aged care. It has been thoughtfully designed to take a whole-of-building approach to dementia care, reducing possibilities for confusion, and encouraging daylight and natural ventilation. This facility is four levels plus a basement, providing shared and private spaces for both staff and residents and a diverse range of indoor and outdoor amenities.
SwanCare’s $20m Leisure Precinct incorporates a gymnasium, indoor heated pool, fitness centre, bowling green with club rooms, and more. The Leisure Precinct was driven by the ideas of community, activity and sustainability. The Precinct was the winner of the Urban Design Award at the 2020 WA Architecture Awards, in addition to a commendation award for Public Architecture and a commendation award for Lighting.
There are a number of plans for further improvements on the site in the coming years.
